SEPTEMBER 2015

Possible 2 cents tax increase in Pinson
The addition of two cents to Pinson's city tax would put it on par with other municipalities.  The August 27th City Council meeting was standing room only as neighbors and merchants gave their opinions on the tax possible increase. Overall the response was positive to the tax increase. Councilman Joe Cochran' s proposal for Pinson having it's own Police Department is what prompted  the tax increase.  Below is a proposed budget needed to run a police department.

Work Continues on City Park in Pinson
When the creek rises all types of garbage floats to the surface.
A few of our citizens have picked up the trash along St. John while others continue to litter and leave garbage bags of household waste.  There will always be those who DO and those who DON'T.
Some go as far as depositing their garbage in the creek bed. I saw a bag of garbage on both sides of the creek. Both looked as if they'd been deposited recently.

In a perfect world improper disposal of garbage and litter would not happen. But this is not a perfect world.

If you are interested in forming a group to clean up litter on St. John Rd. periodically, send an email to, heatherpointe@gmail.com
