Pinson's Curfew Ordinance

A vote of 5-1 put the curfew hours in place for anyone under the age of 18 in Pinson. Sunday-Thursday, 9pm-6am. Friday,Saturday and official city holidays, 11pm-6am. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian or adult after curfew hours. There are exceptions: emergencies, travel home from work or any other place or event that has been supervised by adults such as recreational actiity or church.

1st offense will be $250, 2nd will be $500, the 3rd could be $500 and/or imprisonment for 6 months.

The Center Point Farmer's Market is located on Polly Reed Road in the Reed-Harvey Park on Thursdays from 1-5pm

The Pinson Farmer's Market is open on Fridays from 2-6 pm and located at the old location of Solid Rock Church down highway 75N. Also on that property you will find recycling bins for paper and plastic.

East Lake United Methodist sponsors a Farmer's Market weekly from 8am-12 noon along with home baked goods and jams and jellies as well as crafts and live music.

Located in East Lake off of Oporto-Madrid and 2nd Ave. So.

JUNE 2012

The City of Pinson now has recycling bins in the City Hall Parking lot on the side near the Pinson Library. The bins are for paper, plastic and metal. City Hall is located at 4410 Main Street Pinson, AL 35126

Center Point also has a similar recycling station. It is located in the parking lot of the Center Point Satellite , 2651 Center Point Road near the park area.

Father’s Day is June 17th



Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June but it is also celebrated widely on other days. (wikipedia.com)

Annual Butter Bean Festival

The Pinson Butter Bean Festival was held for two days this year, September 2nd and 3rd on Main Street. Friday’s activities  began at 6:30 pm with the last event for the evening set to begin at 8:30 p.m. Saturday’s festival hours were from 8:30 am until 2:30pm.

Pinson holds the record for the largest amount of butter beans cooked at one time. An official from the Guiness book of records was on hand to present a certificate for this feat at the 2010 festival.

Activities this year  included numerous stage bands and singers, greased pig contest, dog tail wagging contest, antique car show, butter bean and cornbread cooking contest and much more.

The Hot -n- Cold package store next to Food Giant has closed. It is being replaced with and ABC  (Alcoholic Beverage Control) store.

A recycling station is scheduled for set up at the rear of Pinson City Hall some time this year.
