Movies In May
Movies in  May scheduled for May 1st, 8th, and 15th
The city of Pinson will sponsor Movies in May. The movies begin at 7:00 p.m. at  Rock School Center, 4509 Center Point Road Pinson, AL. The movies are free. 

We welcome our new neighbors to Heather Pointe.

Notable Holidays in May



May 5th Cinco De Mayo History
Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of the Mexican Army's victory over France during  the Franco-Mexican War.  The battle was fought at Puebla and is considered a minor holiday inside Mexico.  In the U.S. however, Cinco de Mayo not only celebrates the victory at the Battle of Puebla, but a celebration of the culture and heritage of the Mexican people.

Kids! Decorate your bikes & scooters for a 9:00 AM PARADE around the lake, followed by a FISHIN' RODEO! Games and "door" prizes all morning long.  Free

Memorial day is a US holiday to honor and remember those who died while serving in the military.  Memorial day was formerly known as Decoration Day.  In 1971, Congress declared it a national holiday.  It also marks the unofficial start to the summer season.

PinsonBicentennial
By now you have noticed the  Bicentennial banners hanging from utility poles. Celebration of the Bicentennial will be held April 11, 2015 at the Old Rock School.

Pinson Park
City officials broke ground for a new city park in Pinson on November 30, 2014.  Building and development is underway. The photos  give indication of the progress being made. For details click here.

 Advanced Disposal  (phone 205.640.7000) serves the Pinson area  with curbside garbage service. Older garbage receptacles have been replaced with  newer ones. Phone 205.640.4000  

As a reminder   Keep garbage receptacles from street view and remove them from the curb on garbage day.

Festival of the Springs
Neighboring municipality, Center Point, will be celebrating  The Festival of Springs also on April 11, 2015. The festivities will take place at Reed-Harvey Park, located on Polly Reed Road,  from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
